Andrea Borges

A graduate of the University of Nevada Reno, with a bachelors in English and a minor in art history, Andrea’s interests vary from photography to animal welfare to tending her garden. She is self-taught in both digital design and photography, which keeps her from getting “caught in the box”. She brings a fresh and creative perspective to layout and design. Together with her work in photography, Andrea’s understanding of design gives our clients confidence in the product. Indeed, the idea that there are “rules” to digital artwork and design is as foreign as letting weeds take over her backyard.

Vernon Prestia

As a trained geologist, Vernon left graduate school to take a position in the mining industry.  His work on three-dimensional constraints of geologic features was born from a rare gift of being able to visualize abstract ideas affecting the physical world. The skills required to portray geologic features to a layman and his inherent understanding of business and advertising make Vernon a unique person who can help get your business recognized. Taking his science background to limits not typically associated with geology, Vernon helped form one of the most unique auction houses in the world.

Carol Baker

A graduate of University of Arizona, with a bachelors in history and anthopology, Carol has a love of and keen eye for historical artifacts. As a horse afficionado, Carol understands the careful nuances behind any job. Whether putting a green horse under saddle, copy-editing an important document, or identifying early Native American art, Carol's contribution is nothing short of extraordinary.

The beginning

Co-founders, Andrea Borges and Vernon Prestia, formed Veranda Creations LLC to offer their unique services to clients who appreciate the value of excellence. After working together for 5 years at Holabird Americana, a western Americana auction house, the pair recognized the lack of innovative and creative advertisements and promotional material available to most small and medium sized businesses. As the day-to-day managers at the auction house, Andrea and Vernon became astutely aware of budgetary restraints that affect marketing decisions.

After creating hundreds of postcards, flyers, brochures, camera-ready ads and catalogs, the pair decided that their talents were unique in a world of passé and cliché-ridden print ads and promotional material.
